President’s Corner September 2017

Hello to you all, I hope that you have enjoyed the summer, and for most received some of the rain that was need by many of us around the state.

September will be a busy month for your association.  We will holding district workshops beginning the 7th of September.   I hope you able to attend the one closest to you.  Remember, you can attend any district workshop you wish, or multiples ones as well.  This year we have two hours of education, so  please join us for the fellowship and education.  Be sure that all your staff members have the opportunity as well.

I also want to take this time to remind everyone of the upcoming NFDA Arranger Training that will be held September 12 at UCO.  Please if you plan to attend, get your registration in.  I look forward to seeing Lacy as brings this great program to our state.

This year during the NFDA Leadership conference, we were introduced to the Opioid Epidemic.  The panel discussion was to say the least enlightening.  There are many challenges as funeral professionals that we face due to this.  Part of the education this fall will center on this problem and the challenges that we do not realize are there.

With School back in session across the state, I just wanted to take the time  remind everyone to be alert.  Distractive driving, be it texting, putting on makeup, or just in a hurry and speeding,  can be very costly, so remember the video from Federated.

For those planning on attending the NFDA Convention in October, please let either Gordon or I know.  We try to have an Oklahoma evening out, and want to be sure everyone there is invited to join us.

Again, I look forward to seeing you all during the month at one of our workshops.
