The purpose of the Oklahoma Funeral Directors Association (OFDA) Scholarship Fund is to grant scholarships to young people of acute mind, pleasing personality, good character, ambitious purposes and positive qualities of leadership.
The committee consists of the five immediate Past Presidents of the OFDA. This Committee sets the policy with respect to high scholastic standards required of scholarship beneficiaries. A maximum $1,500.00 scholarship will be awarded to persons who attend any accredited Mortuary College offering instruction in Mortuary Science. Only one scholarship will be given per recipient. The amount of the scholarship will be determined by the Scholarship Committee according to funds available. Payment will be made to the College on a semester or quarterly basis for payment of tuition and books ONLY. If requested by the Committee, recipient will make a personal appearance before the Scholarship Committee.
To receive this scholarship, the applicant must meet all the following requirements:
- Names of applicants must be presented by a member of OFDA.
- Recipient must meet the educational requirements of the Oklahoma Funeral Board.
- Residence Status - Applicant must be a legal resident of the state of Oklahoma for two years and must meet requirements of any accredited College offering instruction in Mortuary Science.
